I mean, the QB run, they gambled that we’d blitz on the side opposite the QB sweep, and they won the gamble. Not much you can do about that. It’s like in Tecmo Bowl when you’re just hoping the guy you’re playing with doesn’t select the same play option you do and end up sacked. That kind of thing just happens.
Our issues come in more on the final drive. With forty seconds left and seventy yards to go, you play the percentages. It’s just smart situational football.
The loss isn’t Gregg Williams’s fault, but the defense’s unpreparedness and inability to at least force overtime on that last drive is, which means he shares in the blame.
