Christmasly cheerful Saints/Falcons facts following an epic night of dominance and debauchery

Last night brought us the gorgeous worst loss the Falcons have suffered during the Mike Smith/Matty Ice Era in Atlanta, including their fun outing against Green Bay during the playoffs last year.

Since the arrival of Sean Payton and Drew Brees the Saints are 10-2 vs Atlanta. The only actual loss was in 2008; the one in 2010 didn’t really happen because kickers don’t miss little easy field goals to win games like that one.

Falcons whined a little about the Saints “running up the score” while Drew went for the record. They also whined when we took pictures on their midfield logo last year; we’re 2-0 against them since. Keep whining.

Michael Turner’s 39 yards last night are his fewest since he had 20 against Tampa in week three of this season. Last night was only the second time all year he’s been held under 40 yards in a game and 39 yards is the lowest total he’s ever produced against the Saints.

Gumbo, fried chicken, potato salad, and Leidenheimer French bread, along with a couple bottles of Abita Amber, is an outstanding meal, obviously, and apparently makes for great anti-Falcons juju. Must note this for the future.

There might be a new entry on our list of Greatest Saints Moments.
